Easy vegetable recipes are needed when you are in a hurry to cook dinner. The thing with vegetables is that it usually takes longer to prepare them than to cook them. But despite the length of time it takes for preparations, it's well worth it once its cooked and on your plate.
There are many types of vegetables out there that can be used as dinner side dishes. They include broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, kale, zucchini, squash, egg plant, carrots, peas, string beans, asparagus, peppers, onions, and many more.
Vegetables are where you get most of your nutrients in a meal. Every vegi has its own nutritional benefits, but all in all, you should have as many servings of vegetables throughout the day as you can. I always refer to Choosemyplate.gov for the recommended amounts of food you should eat a day.
To add flavor to any meal, you can always add a variety of spices to your vegetables. As with most people, if it is plain, it isn't good. It's better for you in its natural state, but if you need to add salt and pepper or garlic to something in order to eat it, go for it. Some spices actually make food healthier, depending on which ones you use.
When you are trying to make dinner fun vice boring for the family, it's always a good thing to add color to the plate. Vegetables are great for that because they all have some kind of vibrant color to them. There are red, orange, green, purple, and yellow colors to help make a dinner exciting.
Though it isn't as important as health, choosing which vegetables to use with a particular protein can be tricky. You definitely don't want to choose the wrong one to serve with king crab - say, mashed potatoes.
I am adding recipes for different vegetables to give you ideas for dinner sides. Sometimes when you see a vegetable in the fridge or on the counter, it just seems bland and not very fun. But if you mix it with something else, the magic happens and everyone loves it.
